Looking to rectify issues overlooked by the original magnetically connected Smart Cover for the iPad 2, the new iPad 3 bound protective layer is said to offer support for both the rear and side aspects of the market leading tablet as opposed to solely the screen on previous iterations.

Most of the rumors about this upcoming release have the IPAD 3 being a slightly different size and width than the previous iPad, due to the intense amount of graphics and resolution this new tablet sports.

This slight variation in size means that any previous iPad owner who decides to purchase the new Apple Tablet will also need an entirely new set of accessories ftheir iPad 3.

But in fact, ipad 3 is the same size as ipad 2, but the ipad 3 will be a little thicker than the ipad 2, so most of the ipad 2 cover can also be used for the ipad 3 cover.
